Diksha Dagar has successfully defended her gold medal at the Deaflympics, delivering an outstanding performance in Tokyo. The Indian golfer finished with a total of 11-under 205, clinching victory by a massive 14-stroke margin in the women’s individual strokeplay competition at the par-72 Wakasu Golf Links. Her rounds of 68, 65, and 72 ensured she remained well ahead of the competition, with Margaux Rezo of France and Canada’s Erica Dawn Rivard finishing second and third.
Diksha Dagar’s Dominant Deaflympics Performance
Diksha’s remarkable final round of 11-under highlighted her exceptional skill and consistency. On the opening day, she carded a four-under 68, the only sub-par score among 21 competitors. At 24, Diksha Dagar has already established herself as a trailblazer in Indian golf. She won gold at the 2021 Deaflympics and a silver in 2017, becoming only the second Indian woman after Aditi Ashok to win on the Ladies European Tour at age 18. She is also the only hearing-impaired golfer to represent India at both the Deaflympics and Olympic Games, having participated in Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024.
