Rajasthan Royals Ravindra Jadeja Trade Talks Stall

Rajasthan Royals Ravindra Jadeja trade

Rajasthan Royals Ravindra Jadeja trade — The highly anticipated swap deal between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) involving Ravindra Jadeja and Sanju Samson has hit a roadblock, according to Cricbuzz.

Curran Inclusion Delays Trade

The latest reports reveal that talks between the two franchises have stalled primarily due to the inclusion of England all-rounder Sam Curran in the proposed exchange. RR reportedly lack both the overseas player slot and budget space to accommodate Curran’s ₹2.4 crore contract.

Currently, RR’s overseas quota is already filled with Jofra Archer, Shimron Hetmyer, Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Kwena Maphaka, Nandre Burger, and Lhuan-dre Pretorius. Their remaining purse value stands at just ₹30 lakh.

Can RR Still Sign Jadeja?

Sources indicate that RR could still secure Jadeja’s transfer, but only if they release one of their overseas players to create roster and financial flexibility. The franchise remains interested in bringing the all-rounder back, as Jadeja began his IPL career with RR in 2008 and was part of their inaugural title-winning squad.

Jadeja’s Legacy With CSK

Since joining CSK in 2012, Jadeja has been a key figure in their success, contributing to three IPL titles and delivering match-winning performances, including his last-ball heroics in the 2023 IPL final.

However, with CSK’s future planning around Ruturaj Gaikwad and budget considerations for the 2026 mega auction, the franchise is reportedly open to exploring options — though Jadeja’s transfer now looks complicated.

The Samson-Jadeja trade saga has thus entered a complex phase, and an official resolution is expected only after both franchises resubmit revised proposals to the IPL Governing Council.
